Breaking the Silence

It's been almost 8 months since the last blog entry...I thought I might just break the silence, being the frequent blogger I am...
It might come as a surprise to many since I'm not really vocal during my brief residence in 1AB...
Anyway, how has everyone been for the midsession break?
I went for Yum Cha & a day tour to Canberra...the latter had such a huge impact on me...I've never been so close to the heart of Australia & Aussie culture before (metaphorically speaking since Canberra is the capital)...first it's Mount Ainsley, then went to the REAL Anzac Parade, saw the war memorials, then went to Floriade, visited the National Museum of Australia & watched the documentary on Aussie culture (through the themes of land, nation & people)...this is the "best Aussie experience" I've ever had for the past 2 years or so...
Enough musings...btw remember that Matt's birthday party is @ Bronte this Sunday...can't wait, and it's another opportunity for 1ABians to come together again...
Speaking of 1AB, I heard that the current 1AB is rather quiet...

Feed me

BTW for anyone who has a syndicated news reader or uses Thunderbird as their email client, this blog has an Atom feed located at http://oneabsee.blogspot.com/atom.xml . I believe by default you get update emails for any comments made on your own posts or on posts that you have commented on, but the only way to be kept informed of entirely new posts (aside from checking the website) is through this feed.

If you haven't already discovered it, try out Google personalised home, which also does RSS and Atom feed reading. You need a Google Account to sign in (I think they give them out now, but if you need an invitation let me know and I'll send some). Just click on the "Add Content" link (once you're signed in) and then enter the above URL as the Feed address.

Here endeth the nerd speak. For now.

All is hot on the Western Front

When all other avenues of conversation fail, I was always taught to rely on the weather. Seeing as how it's been a while since anyone's made a new post, I thought it may be an opportune moment to have a mild whinge about the oppressive heat that has been inflicting itself on the noble city of Tamworth and pretty much everywhere in NSW I think.

Already this year we've broken several records in Tamworth: hottest average January temperature in 25 years, hottest daily January temperature in past 10 years, and now hottest daily February temperature every recorded (since 1957). So it's all loose clothing, cold cans and water fights in old Tammy...

Driving to and from Bathurst this weekend I thought my car was going to sink into a pool of molten tar at some points. And then just to confuse me the top of the Blue Mountains is covered in fog for 80km. What the?

How is everyone else holding up? I think maybe only Julie has a claim on harsher heat conditions than here at the moment, but I may be wrong...

Webcams Ahoy!

So anyway, because I live in a hick town (well it's actually quite a big hick town. A hick city even) I'm quite excited about the webcams set up in our main street for the festival. So everyone immediately go to the Tamworth Website and marvel at the wonder of technology!

Oh yeah, and if you stay tuned after the 20th, you'll actually get to see the festival in progress. For now all you can see is a regular old main street.

Right now, listening to The Whitlams' "Love This City". A good choice of album, actually, because I do...

Oh and welcome to all those members who had to get a second invitation (gasp) in order to convince them to join the blog ;-)

Room Allocations

Hi all... again...

I thought this deserved a special post so I separated it from the other post I just made.

I got my room allocation today and I figure people will either already have their's or will be getting their;s soon.

So where will the former residents of 1AB be residing next year?

Oh... I will be in 3H7 at this stage.

Matt

Holdays: One Week In

So everyone's been out of college for at least a week now (exactly one week for the likes of Sean, Mickey and myself). What has everyone been up to? Has anyone done anything remotely exciting or dangerous on the JulieBruce scale of 1 to insane? Perhaps you've been jockeying a desk the whole time. Comment below to let us know...

1AB Acrobatics

A little blast from the past

Welcome

Welcome one and all to "Every 1's AB, See?", the latest in experimental socio-psychological engineering from redbach... Let's see how many fresh-faced (and mildly crusty) faces we can get on this bandwagon, eh what?
